Sig P320

Nice looking handgun, good luck with it.
thanks, my first polymer Sig, just not my first Sig.

my STX 1911 was my first and of course, being a 1911, i'm in love with it.

on another note, i did a "pre-emptive strike" and emailed Sig, for a date of build. they will get back to me in a few days as per the return email.

well....doh...had i waited till i actually had the clamshell case in my hand..??

i would have READ on the bar code label, the date of build...!!

built in December of 2022

i keep detailed records on that, and first day put into service, dealer, prices, cleaning, lubing, rounds fired, ammo used (new or reloaded) etc.

anility at it's worst, or best, or the unknown, even to Rod Serling.

went to the larger LGS to look for and price out a Sig P 320

the smaller mom/pop place had one, i held it, then decided against buying.

my buddy went there, and bought it.

we met at the range, he let me shoot a mag's worth

i liked it, and dang, i shoulda bought it.

anyway, none at the larger gun store.

so i have my name on the "list" for when they come in

thing is, the mom/pop store sells at a higher price than the larger store, which the salesman i know at the larger store told me the price, and it was like $75.00 cheaper.

well, they are larger, and sell in high volumes......
Not a fan of the Sig handguns in general, nor the P 320 specifically. As a travelling consultant, I often spend weekends in out of town locations. Inevitably. I find myself in gun stores and at gun shows.

What I notice is the large number of SIGs available in the used gun case. When I ask about this I always get the same answer. People buy the SIGs and then want to trade them in for something else.

When I bought my first Springfield 1911 my friends made insulting comments about the price I paid. Later as they bought their Kimbers - for the same price - they would remark how much they like my gun better.

Not everyone wants a 1911, and for that reason I have other Springfields. I remain convinced that Springfield Armory makes some of the best handguns on the market and will hold them out against Glock, Kimber, and SIG with no exception.

that's funny...no really...at the large gun store, in the used gun case..??

i'd be lucky to see 1 Sig up for sale

i guess the same can be said for the used Glocks, and Springfields I SEE at the gun store.

I never see any Sig, Springfield, H&K and Glock used in the shop I visit, lots of Ruger's, S&W's mostly
Fairly the same by me. I was just at the LGS yesterday and they had their usual majority of Glocks and Rugers in the used case. Occasionally I'll see a Springfield, but I can't honestly ever recall seeing many Sigs (other than the one time I bought a used 1911 Emperor Scorpion they had there) or HKs in the used display. Yesterday the sales guy was trying to entice me to buy the used Glock Gen 2 G19 they had in the used case. I passed on that since I have the gen 4 G19. I just chalk it up to firearms that are popular and perhaps people that want to trade them in for updated models or a newer firearm that hits the market.

I think at least some of that is a function of pricing and volume. For example, HK makes a fraction of the number of guns for the U.S. civilian market that Ruger or S&W does, they are generally more expensive, and they generally aren't aimed at first-time buyers. So from a numbers standpoint, it stands to reason you're going to see a lot more Rugers and Smiths than HKs.

But I can regularly find used Sigs, HKs and Springfields at my LGS. The last Springfield I bought was a barely used Ronin 10mm that was sitting in the 'used' case, which surprised me. In fact, a few years ago, I traded in my last HK, and the guy told me they were only taking it because I was a good customer. He said, "I'm already sitting on too many used HKs," and he was, judging by what was already on the 'used' shelves.

Don't know about used Glocks at the LGS, because I don't look for those.

took the P320 to the club, and 2 boxes of factory ammo

dang a/c in the range was immediately sucked out by not only the air filtration system, but the floor fan i had on as well.

first target, i did better than the second one.

but at least, all shots hit the targets.

not much recoil, comfortable grip, good take up on the trigger.

Now you need to move up to a P320 X-five legion……I got sold on Sigs after a few members here talked me into them, and I never looked back since, yea, I like Glock a lot, but I am now leaning more to my Sigs…… who said that…..wasn’t me….🥴🥴

well, i am loving the Berettas, and the CZ's...as well as all my 1911's.

the Sig(s) that i have now this one and the STX are fine indeed.

i went back to the club this morning, again with 2 boxes of new ammo.

i am "dialing in" my trigger finger for this sig P320 better.

tomorrow (tuesday) i'll take it again, all i did for now was add lube to the rails, and forgo a proper cleaning

3 shots in the white zone, otherwise, i am getting better. and frankly, this Sig is as good as any of my all metal 9mm's for weight, recoil, etc. the grip actually fits me nicely, but i will still "consider" a Wilson lower

I'll pass on the the P320 because of the lawsuit and the accidental discharges that have occurred. If a Taurus did this everyone would be talking about how crappy the guns are.
It's ok, they're not accurate at all when they go off by themselves. I put mine to the test and threw them on the ground and out of ten tosses they discharged 7 times and not a one even come close to me.

I talk about how crappy Taurus semi-autos are because, well, they are pretty crappy. I've worked on a few and I have seen more than a few with repeated problems.

As for Sig, someone please if you can , post some evidence that ANY of them fired by themselves. There are no "Accidental" discharges. The triggers were pulled by someone or something. That is a NEGLIGENT discharge.

ok, this morning, i went to the range, as the target can be moved beyond that of the club.

i set the target at 10 yards (30 feet) rather than at the club of 8.333 yards.

i shot 50 rounds of Federal 115 gr.

little by little, i will extend the targets to the full 25 yards (the CCW qualification test), so that i should be ready for that, when the time comes.

25 yards is the max distance at the range (indoor)

i am liking this P320.
